My prayer got intense when a sister in Christ shared with me that her daughter accepted Christ at the age of 4! She told me that salvation belongs to God, and if it's God's timing, my littlehon will come to know God no matter what. No one can stop what God is or will be doing to a child's life! Yes! I took my sister in Christ's words to heart, and pray for my littlehon's salvation! I always believe in exposing young children to God through God's words, singing Christian songs, attending church, saying prayers together, but none of these will make the children a child of God. These are ways to help children understand God and bring them a step closer to our Lord Jesus. Yes, I have tried to expose my littlehon as much as possible everything about God, talk to him about God everyday, say grace before meals, pray to God before we sleep, and he even reminds me to pray for His Masterpiece every night. Though my littlehon somehow knows who God is, I still feel a little burden about whether he will come to know God one day. I want to trust God that my littlehon will come to know Him one day, and that one day has come!
Today is Veterans Day, and my littlehon doesn't need to go to school. After lunch, as usual, my littlehon played with his toy trains and cars before we headed to take our nap. I read to him "Bible Rhymes" and after reading, I told him that God loves him. Out of a sudden, I felt an urge to ask my littlehon if he knows that God loves him, and he said "yes", and then I asked him if he wanted to ask Jesus to come into his life, and surprisingly he said "yes". I was a little doubtful whether he really understood what I was trying to ask him, and I asked him again if he was sure that he wanted Jesus to be his God, and wanted Jesus to come into his heart, and again he nodded. By my littlehon's simple faith and his little understanding, it was his confirmation that he wanted God to be in his life. So without any delay or further doubt, I asked my littlehon to repeat the sinner's prayer after me. It has been a while that I led someone to Christ, and I almost forgot how the sinner's prayer goes. By faith, and with the guidance of God's Holy spirit, I said the sinner's prayer, and with much prayer, I hope that my littlehon would follow through with me. I recorded my littlehon's confession after me because I wanted to mark this day as the day of my littlehon's salvation, and it served as an evidence that he accepted Christ, just in case, he couldn't remember. And also, I wanted to show Rodney that our littlehon accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior! I am so excited what God has done! So through God's grace, my littlehon accepted Jesus, and when I was checking the date, it is 11 Nov (11/11) which coincides with Mikayla's birthday! I think God can be comical at times. He knows that I am pretty forgetful especially with my condition now, and He chose this day which is easier for me to remember my littlehon's salvation :)
Anyhoo, it's just the first step of faith that my littlehon confessed that Jesus is Lord and accepted Him into his life, and like any other brand new Christians, my littlehon needs a lot of nurturing regarding this new faith, and needs to learn more of Jesus, and know that how blessed he is that Jesus has come into his life.
Yes, one doesn't need to be in church, cell group, spiritual meetings or special Christian events to accept and know Jesus Christ. One doesn't need to be of certain age to know God. One just needs simple faith, and the rest is God's job. Salvation belongs to God, and it's God's timing that one will come to know Him as Lord and Savior! After my littlehon said his sinner's prayer, I covered him with prayer, and literally weeping, thanking God for this opportunity for my littlehon to come to know Him and accepted Him as his Savior. As my littlehon accepts Christ before age 3, I will check on him again to make sure the assurance of his salvations, and continue to guide him to follow Jesus. I can't say what lies ahead of him in term of his spiritual commitment, but I know that it is a great start into the Kingdom of God. Yes, Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, so we, as the children of God will be His Princes and Princesses. Now, I can proudly welcome my littlehon, Prince Ethan Joel, into the Kingdom of God, and may God's blessing be upon him, and he will be a blessing to many. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
I hope that you will rejoice with me because one life is saved! If you are a Christian parent, and your children have yet to know God, please press on to pray for their salvations! I will pray with you, and believe that God is in control, and God's timing is always perfect! As Christians, we want our children to come to know God which must be our first priority in prayer! I have been praying for His Masterpiece's salvation even before its arrival, and I am believing that God will call His Masterpiece to His Great Kingdom in His timing. God listens to His children's prayers, and ask it will be given! May God bless you and your family!
Matthew 19:14 - Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (NIV)
